The wait is over. Our latest collaboration with multidisciplinary designer Sarah Sherman Samuel is here, and we're taking a moment to celebrate. It feels like a culmination of sorts, a years-long process for both Sarah and us at Lulu and Georgia. This third and largest launch yet includes rugs, pillows, wallpapers, and her first-ever furniture capsule most excitingly. Sarah's vision is fresh and inspired—and it's an honor to help her bring it to life. We are so excited to introduce this Sarah Sherman Samuel x Lulu and Georgia collection to you and share more about the new pieces themselves. Each is tailored and unique with artful details true to Sarah's warm, edited style. The pillow, rug, and wallpaper patterns were hand-drawn initially by the designer, modernizing and playing off of classic geometric shapes. Curved elements and playful contrasts between form and materiality give the furniture pieces a collected feel without matching too perfectly. It's all driven by the sense of going to a vintage flea market and finding all these discoveries. Certain textures, materials, and color palettes make it feel more collected. See more below from our shoot with the designer, and read on for more inspiration behind the new furniture, pillow, and rug capsules, and a bit more praise for the collection. For those in Los Angeles, visit us at the Sarah Sherman Samuel showroom pop-up at the Platform in Culver City to see—and shop—the new collection in person, from March 1st–31st.

"It's always such a joy working with Sarah. Her incredible talent and keen eye for innovative yet versatile products always amaze me. This collection, our third and largest yet, was so exciting to develop together. It was a true labor of love, and the end result is so beautiful. After more than two years of working on this collection, I can't wait to finally see these pieces in our customers' homes."

Modern Mix

Sarah Sherman Samuel's trademark as a designer is that although her work reflects her warm, edited aesthetic, it isn't bound to just one design style. There is a definite sense of place and appreciation for history—whether that includes the European architecture and old hotels she loves and uses as inspiration or an ultra-modern home she's working on for clients. That equally applies to this latest collection, as Sarah has worked to take traditional forms and then modernize them. Classic geometric designs, curved edges, and playful contrasts between form and materiality give the line a fresh, collected feel. Plus, utilizing durable, versatile materials like oak and mango woods, wool, and fiberstone, as well as richly textured fabrics like linen, bouclé, faux sherpa, and velvet, makes the majority of these pieces fit into a bunch of different places in your home. Read on below to discover more about the different product lines themselves and a few select styles we've highlighted.

The modular Lena sectional sofa in a light taupe velvet sits across from the sherpa upholstered James accent chair and is anchored by a black and white Checkerboard rug, all designed by Sarah Sherman Samuel. The white clouded coffee table sits in the middle of the room, and the designer leans against an open door in the back.

Instantly Iconic Furniture

Sarah noted during our home tour that she has wanted to design furniture for years, and this capsule finally allowed her the time to develop pieces properly. The designer is constantly inspired by interesting shapes, lines, and textures, and the result is bespoke statement pieces that are also very versatile. The sofas, sectionals, and chairs balance elevated style and comfort. The faux sherpa upholstered James Accent Chair, in particular, speaks to a design need in all of Sarah's interiors—a cozy, chunky, design-forward lounge chair. Similarly, with the Lena Sectional Sofa in velvet, its sink-in quality with plush, relaxed cushions is complemented by a tailored, tight-back design and luxe velvet fabric. For a play on materiality, the Clouded Coffee Table and its fiberstone construction add a bit of textural contrast in an indoor or outside living space.

The Irregular Checkerboard Bolster pillow and Boucle Ball Pillow sit on a white pedestal in various colors. The pillows were designed by Sarah Sherman Samuel for Lulu and Georgia.
The white boucle Hyvaa bed is covered in moss green bed linens and black and white throw pillows. On either side of the bed are the black Pentwater round side tables and at the foot of the bed are two brown velvet Clover stools. All furniture was designed by Sarah Sherman Samuel for Lulu and Georgia.

Shape-Shifting Pillows

Each style plays with shape, scale, materiality, and texture for this latest pillow capsule from our Sarah Sherman Samuel x Lulu and Georgia collaboration. As with the rug and wallpaper lines, Sarah initially hand-painted the artwork for the patterned pillows. In the case of the Irregular Checkerboard Bolster Pillow, that organic check design was then translated onto a bolster. A two-toned motif and woven construction offer your sofa or bed a visual and tactile element. The same holds true for the Bouclé Ball Pillow. Its round form and the extra-soft appeal of bouclé make it a super cozy accent to lay on when you're lounging.

The white boucle Hyvaa bed has neutral bed linens and a green duvet draped across with three copper velvet round throw pillows stacked on it. Two wooden Merritt nightstands flank the bed with wooden table lamps. The Ripple chair sits across from the bed. All furniture was designed by Sarah Sherman Samuel for Lulu and Georgia.

Pattern-Playing Rugs

Rugs have always been a staple of our collaborations with Sarah, with pieces like the Iconic Stripe Rug being consistent bestsellers. The designer has leaned more into a reinterpretation of classic geometric shapes like a checkerboard, grid, and dots for this new line. Starting from all originally hand-painted designs, most of the new rugs are hand-knotted and feature unique high-low textural contrast. They are super cozy and dimensional, adding so much texture to a space. During the development stage of this capsule, Sarah was particularly fond of checkered designs, so we brought that pattern in multiple versions—the monochromatic and retro-inspired Checkerboard Rug and the more organic Irregular Checkerboard Rug. Both are standout focal points that work best with tonal looks. They offer something different from the slightly more functional and versatile Line Drawing Flatweave Rug. Its inviting ivory palette and abstract linear design in earth-toned moss let you artfully curate your living spaces, dining rooms, and hallways.

"SSS has beautifully done it again—striking that perfect balance of modern sophistication that feels both fresh and timeless at once. Fun, classy, quirky, cozy, and just the right amount of color, Sarah has designed SO MANY STARS in this collection—pieces that reference historical forms through a completely fresh lens making them instant classics."
