From her impeccable outfits to her thoughtfully designed home, it’s safe to say that everything Kayla Seah touches turns into a saved photo on Instagram. Kayla is a content creator and founder of Not Your Standard, a brand of non-toxic luxury products for your home.  We always love seeing the homes of stylish people we admire but there’s something even better about seeing how someone dresses up their space for the holidays. We stopped by Kayla and her fiance’s home for a drink and major holiday decorating inspiration. Read on for more.

We're thrilled to have you share your beautiful home all dressed up for the holidays with us! What was your inspiration for your holiday decor this season? 

This season I wanted to keep things classic and traditional. Nothing too over done with a focus on greenery! 

It can be hard to find the balance between festive and chic when decorating. What are your tips for achieving an elevated look?

I think it’s beautiful to keep with the tones of your home when decorating for the holidays, I love the neutral Christmas tree decorations and stockings! They sat well with the rest of our decor but still gave that holiday feel! 

What are your musts at home for the holidays?

Lots of winter greenery and good food! 

When it comes to holiday hosting, do you have any tricks up your sleeve?

I try not to take it all on anymore! I feel like when you cook and do the whole decor set up, you end up being so tired by the time your guests get there. I love to find local spots that specialize in certain foods and order from them to help with my menu. I will then cook one main dish but keep the rest to the experts! This way it doesn’t feel too overwhelming and you can be present with your guests.

What’s on the menu at your holiday gatherings?

We love making a butternut squash lasagna! 

What are your favorite holiday traditions?

We love going home to Canada during the holidays, we escape to our family’s winter chalet!

How would you describe your style?

Timeless, classic and warm.

Our mission at Lulu and Georgia is to Bring Beauty to your Home, what does beauty at home mean to you?

Beauty at home for me is the feeling of warmth, I love adding in warm tones and textures to create that ambiance. 

The personal items that have been collected on travels or passed down from loved ones are what really make a house a home. What are a few of your favorite personal items in your home?

My mom gifted us a painting of a winter scene for our home, it always reminds me of winters back home. 

What’s on the horizon for you in 2024?

We have our wedding coming up in Tuscany this summer and we are working on lots of new products for our brand Not Your Standard! Both of those are our main focus right now!
